Welcome to the first part of my first ever blogging series, my LA Travel Series. I’ve been very lucky in 2017 that my wonderful fiancé has taken me on a fantastic trip to Los Angeles. In this first part, I’m going to give you a run through of how to spend your time in Downtown LA. If you’re travelling to LA for pleasure, an event or for business, it’s highly likely you’re going to be spending some of your time in Downtown LA (DTLA). I highly suggest that you block out some time to shop, eat and enjoy this amazingly diverse part of the city.
Last month, I posted my first progress report. I was so happy to be able to report that I had knocked my goals for April out of the park. I’m less happy this month to say that I haven’t managed to do the same for May 2017. Here’s why!
A little while ago, I wrote about how buying Instagram followers is actually a really negative experience. I followed it up with a post describing all the ways I increased my Instagram following organically in the time around that. I held back a little bit, I must admit. There’s so much to say on this topic that I could actually write a whole book on it (read: I’m writing a whole book on it).
When I create a blog post, I always make more than one pinnable image for it! It gives my readers the chance to choose which pins might appeal most to them. As some people try to keep their Pinterest boards themed this gives me the opportunity to appeal to as many people as possible. Today I’m going to describe the simple steps I take to allow my readers to choose from multiple pinnable images, and how I hide pinnable images in blog posts.
Instagram pods, also known as like and comment pods, are group chats of people who engage with each others’ posts. Usually, when you post something new, you send it to the group chat and everyone in the chat will interact with your post. It’s a really good way to boost initial engagement on a new post.
If you think your blog is failing, it may be because you’re falling into one of these blogging traps. They always catch new bloggers out! I’ve been blogging for around 2 months now, and I’ve spoken to bloggers big and small. Every ‘successful’ blogger I’ve spoken to, no matter their niche, has a few things in common. Successful bloggers are hyper-focussed on their own content. They ignore the trends other bloggers are following and do their own thing. Their content is on point, so they stand out from the crowd. They analyse what their readers are reacting to and focus on creating more of the good stuff.
Hashtags are an art form. Using the right hashtags on Instagram is the most efficient way to create growth and engagement on your profile. Why? For posts to show up in search results, they need to be tagged with either hashtags or geotags. As more hashtags can be used than geotags, they are perfect for increasing your reach. Having your posts show up in the search results is the best way to reach a wider, potentially new audience.
Are you on Pinterest? I sure am. Before I started my blog, I read so many articles about how effective the right strategy on Pinterest could be for driving traffic to my blog. I was sceptical. I’d used Pinterest in the past to save inspiration for rooms and houses to build in The Sims and for tattoo ideas. I couldn’t believe that it would be a viable source of traffic to my website. Surely it was just for pictures? Well, I was so wrong. I always thought I was technologically up to date, but the Pinterest trend clearly overtook me. Turns out, Pinterest is more than just a place for collections of beautiful pictures. Pinterest is a mighty search engine. And the secret to getting on page one? Pinterest Group Boards.
I’m a goal-oriented person and I put a lot of focus on crushing my goals on a daily basis! This month was my first full month blogging and I wanted to set myself some challenges to keep me motivated. I managed to completely smash every single goal I set myself! Read on to find out how my blog has progressed this month and how I plan to do even better next month!
Last month I more than tripled my followers on Instagram! I didn’t use bots, I didn’t use any like programs – I worked hard and followed the steps which I’m going to share with you today! Increasing engagement and followers on Instagram can be a lot of work, but it’s extremely rewarding, too. Find out how I did it!
