It’s been too long since I published to my blog, and it’s made me feel like a bad blogger. I started getting into a bit of a rut – I just haven’t been feeling inspired to write, but that made me feel like a worse blogger, which in turn made me more uninspired. A vicious circle. This morning when I woke up, I thought – today is the day. I’m going to be a successful blogger today. And of course, the phrase successful blogger inspired a post. I’m back in the game.
Last month, I posted my first progress report. I was so happy to be able to report that I had knocked my goals for April out of the park. I’m less happy this month to say that I haven’t managed to do the same for May 2017. Here’s why!
If you think your blog is failing, it may be because you’re falling into one of these blogging traps. They always catch new bloggers out! I’ve been blogging for around 2 months now, and I’ve spoken to bloggers big and small. Every ‘successful’ blogger I’ve spoken to, no matter their niche, has a few things in common. Successful bloggers are hyper-focussed on their own content. They ignore the trends other bloggers are following and do their own thing. Their content is on point, so they stand out from the crowd. They analyse what their readers are reacting to and focus on creating more of the good stuff.
I’m a goal-oriented person and I put a lot of focus on crushing my goals on a daily basis! This month was my first full month blogging and I wanted to set myself some challenges to keep me motivated. I managed to completely smash every single goal I set myself! Read on to find out how my blog has progressed this month and how I plan to do even better next month!
This weekend, I bought my first camera in nearly 10 years. I purchased the Canon PowerShot SX720 and I am so happy with it! Its purpose in life is to join me and my amazing fiance on our trip to Los Angeles next month, but I know I’m going to have so much fun taking amazing pictures for this blog with it, too. It’s inspired me to go on a search for some amazing blog photo props for any future photos and I thought it would be nice to share my finds. I’m on a bit of a budget right now, so everything you see here is completely affordable.
Everyone loves a good app, especially when we know they’re boosting our productivity. When you run a blog, you’ve got to have a presence all over the internet in order to be seen and stand out from the crowd. You have ideas that need to be written down before they’re gone, and lists of tasks that need to be tracked and completed – staying organised is key to blogging success! I’m going to share with you some of the recommended apps for bloggers that I’ve been using to try and make the blogging experience as seamless and easy as it can be. I’ve left out The Big Ones – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. We all know we need these!
